Dr. Jackline Mosinya Nyaberi is a seasoned Global Health and Public Health and Health Systems expert researcher, Consultant and advisor. She has been on the forefront in contributing to Pandemic Preparedness and Health Workforce Development in the Global South.
Jackline’s career has focused on strengthening ethics, health systems, and public health leadership to improve infectious disease preparedness and to reduce mortality, morbidity, and disability in vulnerable communities. She has worked as a public health consultant with Amref Health Africa to improve Covid-19 vaccination uptake across Sub-Saharan Africa, and with Action against Hunger to improve public health outcomes in Somalia. She has acumen experience in project management and implementation with large teams. She provides advisory in data science and management for decision making. With her exceptional experience in Health Systems Strengthening, she has contributed in health policies formulation and implementation in Health agencies in Africa.
Her career accomplishments include formulating new health programs, policies, and strategies in Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Malawi to support pandemic preparedness plans, and publishing a book titled “101 Authentic Leadership Lessons: Impacting African Leaders.” Growing up in poverty and unable to afford menstrual pads, Jackline has been inspired to mentor adolescents, women, and girls, provides basic school items for low-income children in rural settings, and founded Ayanna Health Foundation, a non-profit which provides health services to vulnerable populations and mentorship.
She is an experienced corporate trainer, facilitator and has participated immensely in capacity building of health workforce in Africa. Jackline champions and supports community work for girls, adolescents and women ‘s health in Africa . She is an ambassador of Maternal, neonatal and child health.
Jackline holds a Ph.D. in Public Health ,Master of Public Health,and a Master of Global Bioethics. Jackline was named a 2021 Inaugural Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Fellow by the Kofi Annan Foundation, Africa CDC and African Union. Long term, Jackline hopes to continue her work in strengthening public health systems in Africa and beyond and to activate the next generation to become transformational leaders. She dreams to support not only health systems in Africa to experience a paradigm shift in governance and leadership, but also to support all interconnected ecosystems of all stakeholders to foster health and wellbeing for all generations.
